You can use bbcode in order to add images, youtube videos, and links to your status post.

To add an image using bbcode you surround the full url of the image with the img bbcode.
example: [img]http://www.linktoyourimage.com[/img]

To add a link using bbcode you surround the full url of the image with the url bbcode.
example: [url=http://www.linkurl.com]Text Here[/url]

To add embedded YouTube videos to your post using bbcode.
example: [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRxz6FTxsxk[/youtube]
