Description - I AM THE BOY IN THE BARN

James Kramer has lived a hard life on a path to forgiveness. He suffered tremendous emotional and physical abuse of a sadistic father and an absent mother. He lost his baby sister at the hands of his father and retains the horrific memories of her death. James lived in a barn for most of his childhood and learned to survive the isolation and neglect. Growing up in the 1960's, James was treated more like an animal than a child during a time when child abuse was not spoken of, and many people looked the other way. He knows how beautiful a family can be on the outside, but no one truly knows what goes on behind closed doors. James became a deeply spiritual person, but it was a challenging road filled with twists and turns. Throughout the years, he is thankful he has had people in his life that were bright lights at the end of his tunnel, and he kept moving forward, pushing on. He found that forgiveness was key. James was compelled to write his story to make others aware of toxic childhood stress, domestic violence, and abuse and encourage people to avoid these relationships at all costs. No one should suffer like this, and no child should live in these circumstances. His goal was to help others be aware of the impact child abuse, domestic violence, and toxic childhood stress could have on one's life. James currently lives a peaceful life in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, dogs, and nature.

Life sometimes throws us lemons...best thing to do is simply make lemonade and add lots of sugar.
