A certain specie of primate can be easily captured by placing food into an anchored container with a hole just big enough for him to put his hand through. Then when he clenches the bait, his hand is too big to come back through while it is clenched in a fist. He could easily get it out if he let go of the bait, but will not do so. Sometimes, we get trapped in unforgiveness or other negative emotions, all because we will not unclench our fist and let go.
