I spent my time in the Corporate world.......20+ years, and then I said "Ok that's enough".
Today I’m an Engineering Consultant. I have an office in town – but I work out of my house more often than not. Yup it's tough being your own boss! I've been teaching at a local community college a couple of nights a week this semester.
Even though I am relatively quiet in the chat rooms it is not because I am “stuck up”. I just lay low so as not to get involved in the drama or name calling that frequently takes place. When I have something to say….I say it. I tend to bounce in and out of the chatroom a lot. It’s not because my wife just walked in on me (been divorced for years now). Nor do I have an online girlfriend who just entered the chatroom (who would have me?). I guess I’m just a restless kind of guy with a short attention span who gets bored easily and looks for other things to do. Sometimes I may not respond to something said to me in chat or I may miss a whisper request – it’s not because I am ignoring you….I’m usually multi-tasking while chatting and missed what you said. So if I don’t respond please give it another shot.
I enjoy working with my hands. I've restored an old cottage on the beach which I live in. I have an old classic car that I am just about finished restoring and will post pictures soon. I guess I just like bringing old stuff back to life and jazzing it up a lil bit.
I do have a boat which I restored and get much enjoyment out of. I've had it forever and continue to pour money into it - she doesn't look like much but she floats!
I live on the shore so my hobbies are generally based around the water - sea kayaking, scuba diving, fishing, and photography. A few of my buddies are commercial fisherman so whenever they're short a crewmember I help out and head out with them to George's Bank or Jeffrey's Ledge and do some serious fishing for Swords or Tuna. The waters around Cape Cod are littered with old shipwrecks - which I really enjoy diving on and exploring I've salvaged some neat stuff. I usually have a couple of lobster traps in the water at any given time. Surfed a lot in my younger days - still do it occasionally but it's tough getting old (I think my center of gravity has shifted)! Mostly I surf in September when the tourists are gone.(hate having them point and laugh at the old surfer dude).
Don't just exist - the purpose of life is to live a life of purpose
