Funny how life just... happens. Or doesn't. Thoughts running amok through her mind as she gazes into the fire. It was the reason she loved this place so. The fire. Glancing around she studied the room from under lowered lashes. From her chair in the corner near the fire she had an open view to the entire room. A quiet, private club, Sui Generis, was just that. Of it's own kind, quite unique. She was situated, as usual, in her favorite room. Walls covered in glistening mahogany were the perfect backdrop for the copper framed prints of sepia toned artful nudes. Classy, well-posed, and tasteful depcitions of nude males and females, as well as couples were precisely placed and softly lit by hammered copper sconces. The floors were covered with plush, luxurious waves of thick carpet. There was a long polished copper bar along the far wall, a massive natural stone fireplace on the near one with a warm crackling fire that warmed the room. Artfully decorated with overstuffed leather furniture set about in smallish groupings completed the warm and welcoming decor.

Surreptitiously observing the room's inhabitants, some known, others not so much, she mentally notes how those present interact with others. She learned long ago that watching others react and respond to others tells an honest tale of how people truly feel and think. Especially when they're unaware of being observed. More honest than what flows from their mouths, at least from her experience. How a person holds themselves, how they manage eye contact, whether or not their smile reaches their eyes, the small tell-tale signs speak of what they are thinking, how they are feeling. For the most part it was simple to see the difference between those that enjoy Dominance, submission, and even easier to see those new to the Lifestyle with their huge eyes and nearly incessant blushes. Male and female alike. The Sui Generis catered to those and others with various curiosities and preferences that would be most often frowned upon by other establishments. Not that one could tell from observing this room alone. This was the commonplace, the gathering area, so to speak.

She sighed softly as she turned her gaze back to the fire, crossing one long, supple thigh over the other. She wondered when she had become so jaded. So.... solitary. So... numb, even. Not that she didn't garner attention herself. Her eyes had clashed with many tonight that had glanced, or outright stared curiously. Her long deep auburn hair brushed her shoulders, fairly glowing in the light of the fire. Chocolate brown eyes offering a view to a soul older than time. Tall and slightly curvy, in some of the wrong place to be considered beautiful by the masses, she was none the less content with how she looked. She was well aware of the reputation she carried amongst Sui's membership. Strong, reserved, imposing, cold, and somewhat antisocial. She'd always though that an oxymoron, seeing as she was a member of said social club. Alas, the opinions of others mattered very little to her. She was honest enough with herself to admit that. And being solitary, well, she admitted that was also by choice for the most part.

She wasn't really cold. The rest, yes, most probably, but she was far from cold. She felt the fire within, she just rarely let it show. Nothing had stirred the deeply embedded embers into flames for a long time now. Yes, she felt the fire within. She felt the need growing daily, yet no outlet to be found. She didn't allow herself that luxury. She refused to settle again. She didn't expect perfection, that was far from the truth of it. She simply needed the right connection. One she'd just about lost hope of finding. She laughed softly at herself then, a bit derisively, as she acknowledged she'd never find what she sought when she hadn't even been allowing herself to look for it.
