Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has parted ways with a couple of Women’s Flyweights.
Today (Thurs., March 20, 2025), social media account UFC Roster Watch revealed that Montana De La Rosa and Andrea Lee have been released from their respective contracts and/or the promotion decided not to extend them.
For what it’s worth, both fighters competed against each other at UFC Louisville last year.
De La Rosa (13-9-1) competed on The Ultimate Fighter season 26, winning a fight on the show before ultimately losing to Nicco Montano, the eventual winner.
Because the new Flyweight division needed athletes to compete, she received a contract and won her first three fights by submission. Unfortunately, that would be the last winning streak of her career, as she would only win three of her next nine fights.
The 30-year-old snapped her three-fight losing streak in her last outing against the aforementioned Lee and was supposed to compete earlier this month at UFC Vegas 103, but her fight got scrapped due to her opponent pulling out due to weight issues.
De La Rosa exits UFC with a 13-9-1 record.
Like De La Rosa, Lee (13-11) kicked off her UFC career going 3-0 with wins over Veronica Hardy and Ashlee Evans-Smith, before losing three straight fights.
“KGB” would get back into the win column by winning two fights in a row, finishing Antonina Shevchenko and Cynthia Calvillo. However, the Louisiana native would go on a six-fight skid, which led to her release.
Lee exits the promotion with a 5-9 record.
