After swinging a deal for forwards Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee on Thursday night, the Calgary Flames are gearing up for a playoff push. Which means Rasmus Andersson, Nazem Kadri and MacKenzie Weegar are off the table in potential trade talks, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported Saturday.
Both Weegar and Kadri have been locked up by Calgary long-term, with Weegar in the middle of an eight-year pact that keeps him on the Flames blue line until 2031, and Kadri signed on a seven-year deal through 2029.
Andersson, however, is scheduled to hit free agency following the 2025-26 NHL season, which has raised some question marks around his future in Cowtown.
