Inheriting The Ledger

Life has a way of teaching lessons even when we are not ready to learn. Sometimes we think we are on track then it all goes sideways and we find ourselves hanging off the edge of an emotional cliff staring into the dark abyss. Clouds don’t always have a silver lining, there are no pots of gold at the end of rainbows and we usually bite off the hand that feeds us and don’t realize our mistakes until it's too late.

Greed takes a front seat to sensibility, revenge takes the lead role while living well is shoved into a dusty old case in the attic. When did the world tilt allowing so much decency to fall away only to expose the corruption beneath. When did we take an invisible injection to immune us to the horrors that seep through the walls of what used to be right.

Hope feels like a distant memory, compassion has slowly become a cry in the night that goes unheard. Respect now lays shattered on the ground but time has not forgotten.

Are we doomed for failure? A new day, new beginnings…a baby's cry offers a glimmer of a future unknown, a chance to correct the failings of their ancestors.

Learn from our mistakes, teach our children to be better.
