*Another converted poem*
Tear drops trickle down pale skin from wide brown eyes as her lips quiver feeling the impending storm that appeared to be hovering over the horizon. Her body shudders as if it was possessed, each slow step forward felt more and more chaotic. With slow trembling hands she reached out into the darkness that seemed to envelop everything around her covering everything in what felt like a heavy black woolen blanket almost suffocating in nature.
Everything that once surrounded her vanished into nothing leaving her standing alone and it felt like the void was swallowing her and the scream that fought to escape her throat could not even make a sound. Shadows danced between the trees taunting her as they appeared and disappeared to and from the shadows. The path she had been standing on was now slowly shrinking away being swallowed by the darkness that crept in closer. Then there were the yellow eyes…they appeared everywhere just watching and waiting.
Everywhere she looked they were staring at her studying her like she was their prey just waiting for the right moment to launch an attack. At first there were only a handful of eyes, but then more began to appear. They surrounded her and beneath the silence she could hear the sound of breathing, the kind that an animal would make just before preparing to make its move.
Her first instinct was to run but she was frozen in place, the air surrounding her now icy cold which bit at her bare flesh. She finally snapped out of it long enough to rush forward, arms flailing at her sides as if she could keep what was out there away from her. She could see a dim light in the distance which she thought was her only hope. Her legs ached and her chest burned as she struggled to breathe, the light in the distance now closer which turned out to be a lantern that some one apparently left hanging on a broken iron gate which led into an abandoned cemetery.
She began to cry again as she squeezed through the broken gate, almost tripping over broken headstones desperately seeking a place to hide. She grabbed the lantern and kept going till she stumbled across a mausoleum and the lock on it had been broken. She set down the lantern and shoved the door open, snatching the light off the ground and diving inside before pulling the door shut. It seemed to have been recently ransacked, the coffins that were left inside were open and empty but at least she felt safe inside.
She let out a sigh of momentary relief before the lantern finally burned out leaving the inside of the building in the dark but she could not see the eyes and did not see the shadows so if she could only last till morning she would finally go home. Taking another deep breath she thought that she would finally be ok but a deep growl cut through the chaos followed by a deep voice that would send chills through her.
