THINKING SLAVERY

Welcome to what can be a most difficult journey. However it can also give you one of the most beautiful rewards. This is not a commitment to be taken lightly and what you have committed to can be one of the most fulfilling journeys in the world. To actively seek to please another person by surrendering completely without question or fail, allows you to utterly fulfill yourself in ways you have never even begun to imagine. It is in this greatest fulfillment that you find true happiness and freedom. Nothing worth having ever comes easy, thus this journey is fraught with many harsh trials and tribulations that will have you doubting yourself among other things.

"May I be taught to dance?” she asked.
“Who is I?” I questioned.
“Alyena, your slave girl, Master.” she whispered, “begs to be taught to dance.
“Perhaps she will be taught,” I said.
“She is grateful,” said the girl.
We were silent for a time.
“Alyena,” I said.
“Yes, Master,” she said.
“In your heart,” I asked, “do you think of yourself as slave?”
“May a girl answer truthfully?” she asked.
“Yes,” I said.
“I can never be a true slave,” she said. “I am a woman of Earth.”
“Oh,” I said. I smiled.
I listened to the night, the wind, the snorting of the kaiila, the calls of the guards.
“Why does Alyena wish to learn to dance?” I asked her
The girl thought for a bit. The she sniffed. “Alyena,” she said, “thinks that it might give her pleasure, that it would give her something interesting to do, to occupy her time. She thinks it would be good for her health. It will help to keep her figure trim.”
Alyena,” I said, “wishes to learn to dance–to dance the true dances of female–because in her heart, and she tells no one, there is a secret.”
“What is Alyena’s secret?” asked the girl.
“That in her heart,” I said, “she wants to be a slave girl.”
“Nonsense,” said the girl.
“But there is another secret,” I said. “One which Alyena does not know.”
“And what is that?” she asked angrily.
“That she who in her heart wants to be a slave girl is already a slave girl.”
“No, no!” cried the girl. “No!”
“On such a girl,” I said, “brand and collar are no more than emblems, mere tokens, proclaiming on her body the truth of her, the deepest truth of her, which no longer may she conceal.”
“No!” cried the girl.
“On such a girl,” I said, “brazenly, making it evident to all, they tell the secret, which she is no longer permitted to hide, that she is slave, only slave.”
“No!” she cried.
“Your brand and collar, Alyena,” I said, “fit you well.”
“No!” she wept. I heard her fingers pull at her collar.

However…
Slavery also has a side that a lot of people do not handle very well. A slave must follow all rules set down for them. These steps are the beginning of that process when you start following the rules that are set down for you in your training. It is not your place to reason why or question but to simply obey. It demands total and utter obedience. You are not given the luxury to choose which orders to follow and which not to. It is not your choice to choose which restrictions you can accept or throw asside. You are slave it is your duty to remain loyal to any and all that you are in service to. This is certainly not limited to any one person or home. The need to serve others is nondiscriminatory and completely limitless. We do not choose to serve anyone one day and then decide not to because of our likes or dislikes of a particular person or home.

When you wake up every morning and all you can think about is pleasing the Free then you let go and have learned to trust so completely that loyalty and submission with serving is all you desire to make you truly happy. Obedience encompasses many things:-
Following orders...Staying within restrictions...Loyalty...submission...Letting go...Trusting...humility
The duty of a slave is absolute obedience. It is a skill to learn how to be respectful while still being obedient. It is important to learn how to word questions respectfully. To know how to say no without causing offense when asked to do something that you are forbidden, unsure of, or don’t think that your Owner would approve of. In order to attain the euphoric fulfillment slavery promises, you must learn to let go of things you have always held dear. You must be able to put doubts and fears aside and forge ahead. You must be able to adapt your personality to someone else’s ideal. A slave becomes what their Owner wishes them to become not what the slave wants to become

"the collar is put on from without, but what it encircles comes from within. Slavery, true slavery, comes from within.”
– Savages of Gor p 210

If slavery is not in your heart then you will struggle and ultimately end up unhappy. You decide simply how heavy or light your collar will be. In this growth and knowledge you will have to give of yourself fully and put forth your best effort. Nothing should be done with half effort or with the mindset “what is in it for me?.”

"He was kind. He was permitting me to serve him. I looked at him. Were there to be no secrets between us? Were my defects, my helplessness, and the completeness of my surrender to him, to be broadcast so publicly? In his eyes I read that my questions were out of place. In his eyes I read that I was slave.

Let us take a moment to explore the thinking as a slave and ask ourselves.  What does it mean to think as a slave?

Much of a slave’s thinking encompasses many things. You as a slave have the drive deep within you to let go and trust another to guide you in all ways. For many of us this is not exactly an easy thing to do. Why? Much of today’s society has demanded that we conform to what they have deemed correct. Many shy away or get offended at the mere mention of slavery or submission because it is percieved to be demeaning to women. Is it really?

Well let us take a look at what Gorean slavery entails to find out if it is truly demeaning

Gorean Slavery was not a choice. You either accepted your place or you were forced to or suffer death. Many Gorean slaves did not get the choice to submit. Native born or barbarian if a Free Man decided you were nothing more then property then that is what you were.
Definitely not an easy thing to do, in fact many fail in the trying or give up entirel.

Slavery has no place for princesses, whiners, players, or brats. It requires a full time commitment and more work then most people can even comprehend until they’re wading in it up to their eyeballs and then some. Not just the training we are required by our Owners and Homes, but emotional and mental work that no one can tell you how to do. Slavery is not easy nor can one be weak to do it. Many perhaps see slaves as weak, someone who can not make decisions for themselves but this is far from true. A slave can not be weak for they must be strong enough to adapt to what their Owner wishes, their Owners desire and must face their punishments for any wrong doing even if they did not realize or see it as wrong at the time they did it.

You have given up all rights to “no”, “not now”, “do it later”, and any other statement that says you will be doing something other then what you were told. You have no rights not given to you by your Owner, and no reason to whine about rights, since you don’t have any.

You must adjust your mindset, so that you are not only wanting, but actually able to be what someone else wants. You must be able to say to yourself, “Master wishes this, so shall it be done” and then NOT feel like your losing some part of yourself in order to do it. Doing as ones Owner wants should make you feel more complete, not like you have been smacked across your emotional face.

"The absolute truth must be spoken to a Gorean master. It is forbidden to a girl to hide her feelings.”
– Captive of Gor p 210

New slaves are often treated with great harshness. It helps them lean quickly that they are slaves. Later, when the girl is well trained and her services become perfections, she may be treated more leniently, even lovingly, like a dog.
