Love’s Rainbow Â
Â
She comes to me
In dreams of night
I see her face
In pale moonlight
Â
She reaches out
With arms outstretched
Her blazing lips
I've not yet fetched
Â
Why can't I touch her?
I just don't know
She whispers softly
Ride Love’s rainbow
Â
This revelation I've heard before
Never less and never more
Out the door I run-this is no game
To follow my heart and find my dame
Â
I'll ride the rainbow just as she asks
I'll find her lips and fill my flasks
I'll search so near and go so far
I'll just go blindly or follow a star
Â
Rainbows unite and produce no schisms
Where white lights dance through water prisms
To find her lips might seem like chance
I'll kiss her lips - find true romance
Â
I mount my horse and ride for days
I’ll seek out clouds with rain-kissed haze
The clouds I seek are full of rain
The clouds I find are full of pain
Â
There is no sun on that horizon
I've not found clouds, but moonlight rising
I stay my course and seek my love
I'll use night's light as sun above
Â
At dawn's first light I see my mist
I grab the reins and clench my fist
I mount my steed and chase dawn's tail
It's not my cloud-it's merely hail
Â
Where is my love that I shall know?
She's out of reach - there's no rainbow
I'll not give up this spell I'm under
Until I rule dark clouds that thunder
Â
She's in my heart
She's in my veins
She's everywhere
That’s kissed by rain
Â
She knows I'll seek her til she's mine
She knows my lips will taste like wine
She knows to wait – it’s not too frightening
She knows her love will charge the lightning
Â
I ride the valley and to the hill
I ride the mountain - my heart's not still
My love’s journey lifts me high
I'll find that prism in rain-kissed sky
Â
I know I'll find her it’s not a guess
I'll find her in a flowing dress
She'll reach for me with her sweet charms
She'll take me warmly in her arms
Â
I'll kiss her lips after my ride of days
I'll seek her soul out in her gaze
I'm not there yet; I'll not surrender
I'll bind Time's hands -firm yet tender
Â
If it takes years to find my heart’s friend
I'll stop the clock - Time's arms I'll bend
It's time I need and nothing more
For Time will see me at her door
Â
With all clocks stopped I search for years
I'll find my love - I'll kiss her tears
I've conquered Time to find my love
Might this be providence from God above?
Â
My dream unfolds before my eyes
I’ll find my love by next moonrise
It's clouds I seek still far and wide
I'll seek them with the roaring tide
Â
I hit a stride that's full of motion
I ride my horse 'til I find ocean
I see the clouds - I see the rays
I see Love’s rainbow in the haze
Â
I ride so fast and ignore the bumps
I kick my horse until he jumps
My steed flies off a jagged cliff
He floats on wings that give us lift
Â
It's not a dream or ride at fair
It's my steed Love flying through the air
A gentle ride as if on snow
My dream come true on Love’s rainbow
Â
We stay the course
We’ll never stop
I look towards earth
We're now on top
Â
We're halfway there
Oh what a ride!
It's downhill now
I think we'll slide!
Â
We taste the mist and slip towards thee
Through my own eyes this ride she's seen
I'll gaze at her after Love’s long ride
I'll thank the prism for it's smooth glide
Â
I look ahead; what's this I see?
A meadow sneaking up on me
I look behind and now I know
Twas not a dream-but Love’s rainbow!
Â
I pat my horse and say "good boy"
My heart leaps and beats with joy
We rode for years inside this 'bow
Then found that Time - it did go slow
Â
What seemed liked years
Was scarcely seconds
We've come so far
Where my love beckons
Â
My steed hits earth and steps in time
We're off and running - in a straight line
I say the words and release Time's bind
Since we're now close to my heart's find
Â
I've not grown old in this fair rhyme
I rode on clouds and just tamed time
My advice to her is just to hold
I'll find my love just as I've told
Â
My steed gallops across the grass
It's my love’s arms I'll feel at last
Across a field there are homes in order
I've found my love across the border
Â
I see her castle with lights aglow
No turning back, this much I know
I jump down from my weary steed
He's tired now and needs his feed
Â
I walk him to a babbling brook
I let him drink below her rook
I see him gaze up towards a torch
I look up high and see a porch
Â
I joyfully fall upon one knee
It's her I've sought - It's her I see
After Love’s hard ride from my abyss
I touch my lips and blow a kiss
Â
I take off my hat, just as I ought
I think of sleep; of slumber fought
I bow my head down with respect
Guilty as charged, my heart suspect
Â
I stand up tall and gaze towards my love
But she’s not there, she’s not above
I look about – where has she gone?
Night’s almost past - it’s close to dawn.
Â
Where did she go - this fair young maiden?
How could she leave after my heart's raidin'?
It's not a dream, as my heart tears
I start to weep - I see nightmares
Â
I look for her - have I lost my love?
Were these illusions from God above?
My eyes bleed tears as my heart wears
My fears were lies - she came downstairs!
Â
Out her front door she flew with glee
With her arms open she ran to me
I hold her tight - I see her tears
I kiss them all - I steal her fears
Â
I pick her up from off the ground
I look at her and make no sound
I hold her firm my hands on hips
I softly kiss her sweet moist lips
Â
"My Love!" she cries with tears of joy
I look at her - I’m such a boy
She soothes my soul - my youth reborn
I'll take her hand - blow Cupid's horn
Â
Was this a dream I dreamt to know?
Nay -Twas our sweet ride
On Love’s rainbow!!
