Words are the lifeline of Gorean roleplay!  Let's have a little fun with them!

Take the last letter of the Gorean word posted, then post a NEW Gorean word beginning with that letter.
(The word must be a Gorean word.)

Example:
     THARLARION
The next post would be a word beginning with "N"......
     N - NEEDLE TREE
     ... and so on.

Feel free to add a short description or quote that uses the word, if you wish!

Let's start with

FLAMINIUM (a scarlet red, large-budded, five-petaled flower)

E- Exotic Slaves - "Then in what way are they exotic?" I asked.
Ho-Tu looked at me and grinned. "They know nothing of men," said he.
"You mean they are White Silk?" I asked.
He laughed. "I mean they have been raised from the time they were infants in these gardens. They have never looked on a man. They do not know they exist." ~Assassin of Gor, p. 114-116

S- Sting Fly; "The sting of the sting fly is painful, extremely so, but it is usually not, unless inflicted in great numbers, dangerous. Several stings, however, and even a few, depending on the individual, can induce nausea. Men have died from the stings of the flies but usually in such cases they have been inflicted in great numbers. A common reaction to the venom of the fly incidentally is a painful swelling in the area of the sting." Vagabonds of Gor

O-Oblique Advance...Developed by Dietrich of Tarnburgh, this formation makes it possible for armies to choose to attack limited portions of the enemy, therefore engaging a much larger army and chipping away at it piece by piece.
"He was also the initiator of the oblique advance in Gorean field warfare, whereby large numbers of men may be concentrated at crucial points while the balance of the enemy remains unengaged." — Mercenaries of Gor, page 32.

E - Eel Tongue "One dish I recall was composed of the tongues of eels and was sprinkled with flavored aphrodisiacs, the latter however being wasted on me as I spent, to Elizabeth's consternation, the night lying on my side in great pain." Assassin of Gor Book 5 Page 204

Ehn- The Gorean day consists of twenty Ahn; the Gorean Ahn, or hour, of forty Ehn, or minutes; the Ehn consists of eighty Ihn, or seconds. An Ihn is slightly less than an Earth second. Tribesmen of Gor Page 352

N - Notarized "Anticipating such a desire," laughed Verna, "we had written confirmation of the enactment, signed with the seal of Marlenus himself. Further, documents proclaiming the disowning, officially notarized with the seals of Ar and Marlenus, will soon be posted in all the major Gorean cities."

D = Dance of the Larl Hunters - "Near the pit of sand several slave girls, dancers, in Pleasure Silk were kneeling back on their heels and clapping their hands with glee… A moment later another guard leaped into the pit of sand and, to the amusement of the girls, began a dance of larl hunters, joined by two or three others, in a file, dancing the stalking of the beast, the confrontation, the kill." — Assassin of Gor, page 240.

N-Ngao; a word meaning "shield", also the name of a lake. Lake Ngao is larger than Lake Ushindi, it is a vast, deep, long, oval lake fed by the Ua River in the jungles near Schendi.

T = Table Slave - ""Serve me wine," Ho-Sorl ordered Phyllis Robertson, though she was far across the room, and there were several girls nearer. This was not unusual, however, for Ho-Sorl invariably demanded that the proud Phyllis, who professed to despise him, serve him as table slave, which service she would ultimately, irritably, head in the air, have to render him, whether it be merely the pouring of his wine or the offering of a grape held delicately between her teeth. — Assassin of Gor

E-Egg-Carrier...A "female" of the Kur."We have three, or, if you prefer, four sexes," it said "There is then the egg-carrier who is impregnated. This form of Kur is smaller than the dominant or the non-dominant, speaking thusly of the nonreproducing form of Kur..."The egg-earner is the female," I said..."If you like," said the beast… — Beasts of Gor, pages 368-369...

"Of course there is a biological order," he said …" There is first the dominant, and then the egg-carrier, and then the nondominant, and then, if one considers such things Kur, the blood-nurser." — Beasts of Gor, page 370.

R = Return to Turia - "… the Omen Year, or season, lasts several months, and consists of three phases, called the Passing of Turia, which takes place in the fall; the Wintering, which takes place north of Turia and commonly south of the Cartius, the equator of course lying to the north in this hemisphere; and the Return to Turia, in the spring, or, as the Wagon Peoples say, in the Season of Little Grass.." — Nomads of Gor, page 11.

Armored gatch- "...On the floor itself are also found several varieties of animal life, in particular marsupials, such as the armored gatch, and rodents, such as slees and ground urts. Several varieties of tarsk, large and small, also inhabit this zone..." Explorers of Gor, page 312

H = Hail - "Greetings, Teibar!" called a fellow.
"Hail, Teibar!" called another. From the latter manner of greeting, I gathered this Teibar might be excellent with the staff, or sword. Such greetings are usually reserved for recognized experts, or champions, at one thing or another. For example, a skilled Kaissa player is sometimes greeted in such a manner." — Magicians of Gor, page 52.

L-Lang Gim...A bird common in the Ushindi..."In the ground zone, and on the ground itself, are certain birds, some flighted, like the hook-billed gort, which preys largely on rodents, such as ground urts, and the insectivorous whistling finch, and some unflighted, like the grub borer and lang gim." — Explorers of Gor, page 311.
