Words are the lifeline of Gorean roleplay!  Let's have a little fun with them!

Take the last letter of the Gorean word posted, then post a NEW Gorean word beginning with that letter.
(The word must be a Gorean word.)

Example:
     THARLARION
The next post would be a word beginning with "N"......
     N - NEEDLE TREE
     ... and so on.

Feel free to add a short description or quote that uses the word, if you wish!

Let's start with

FLAMINIUM (a scarlet red, large-budded, five-petaled flower)

X - *X rays. Energy rays of an unknown origin used for sterilization. "I would later learn that these rays, which passed through my body as easily and harmlessly as sunlight through glass, were indexed to the metabolic physiology of various organisms which can infect Priest-Kings." (Priest-Kings of Gor) *These rays are not named in the books, the source of their origin remains unknown hence the use of the algebraic symbol "X" meaning "an unknown value." Accept it or reject it as you wish.

S-Silk Thongs...Used by free women of the Tahari to improve their gait..."Free women, in the Tahari, incidentally, usually, when out of their houses, also measure their stride. Some fasten their own ankles together with silken thongs." — Tribesmen of Gor, pages 44-45...(((this was too funny to girl...she could just see a Lady walking around...or should girl say stumbling around...reminds girl of Mortisha Adams shuffle walk)))

W=Wristlet...Not much is described of the wristlets worn by men. Wristlets generally are a band of leather which encircles the wrists; protects the wrist..."You, Master," said Tina, to a handsome young seaman, who wore a wristlet studded with purplish stone, amethysts from Schendi, "would you be so kind as to rise and come forward." He stood before her, appreciatively, but warily. "You kissed me this afternoon," she told him. "Please do so again." — Hunters of Gor, pages 97-98.

T - Trade Advisor "'Decius' is a not uncommon name in the vicinity of Ar and Venna," said Addison Steele.
"I would not know," I said.
"There is, for example, Decius Albus, the trade advisor to the Ubar of Ar, Marlenus," said Addison Steele.

I - Illegal Cutting "Such preserves are posted, and surrounded by ditches to keep out cattle and unlicensed wagoners. There are wardens who watch the trees, guarding against illegal cutting and pasturage, and inspectors who, each year, tally and examine them." Raiders of Gor Book 6 Page 141

G-Garrote...An instrument of execution, rather than a weapon...About my throat, closely looped, was a narrow golden chain. It was controlled by two narrow wooden handles, in his hand. "It was a girl-capture chain," I said. "It is to be distinguished sharply from the standard garrote, which is armed with wire and can cut a throat easily. The standard garrote, of course, is impractical for captures, for the victim, in even a reflexive movement, might cut her own throat. — Savages of Gor, page 180.

E - Eon "The Mother was hatched and flew her Nuptial Flight long before the discovery of the stabilization serums," said Misk. "We have managed to retard her aging considerably but eon by eon it has been apparent that our efforts have been less and less successful, and now there are no more eggs."

N-Nest War-.A war among the Priest-Kings themselves; one faction led by Misk, another by Sarm. The Nest War nearly destroyed the Priest-Kings, as well as the entire planet of Gor, forever..."I knew, as Kamchak and Kutaituchik did not, of the recent Nest War beneath the Sardar, and of the disruption in the technological complexes of the Nest…" - Nomads of Gor, page 51..."But some years ago, in the time of the Nest War, the power of the Priest-Kings was considerably reduced." - Beasts of Gor, pag

N-Nykus...Literal translation: "Victory."..."The Gorean word for victory is 'Nykus,' which expression seems clearly influenced by 'Nike,' or 'Victory,' in classical Greek." — Explorers of Gor, pages 99-100.

S - She-urt "She may be wearing the garment of a she-urt," I said.
"That is known to us, Citizen," said he.
"I myself," said a nearby guardsman, "stopped a girl answering the description, one in the torn rag of a she-urt, but when I forced her to reveal her thighs, she was unmarked."

T - Taluna "The chief says the river is dangerous beyond this point. He says there are hostile tribes, dangerous waters, great animals, monsters and talunas, white-skinned jungle girls." He indicated the blond-haired barbarian, kneeling, her hands tied behind her back, her neck-rope in the hands of Alice, who, in lovely repose, stood beside her. "He thought she might be one," he said. "I told him she was only an ordinary slave."

A-Ale...A strong beer favored in Torvald...."The Forkbeard himself now, from a wooden keg, poured a great tankard of ale, which must have been of the measure of five gallons. Over this he then closed his fist. It was the sign of the hammer, the sign of Thor. The tankard then, with two great bronze handles, was passed from hands to hands among the rowers. The men threw back their heads and, the liquid spilling down their bodies, drank ale. It was the victory ale." — Marauders of Gor, page 82.
