If Buzzen looks a little different lately, that’s because a lot has changed behind the scenes — and on the screen too!

We’ve been working on a major update to Buzzen.com designed to modernize the website while keeping the community, chat network, profiles, friendships and history that make Buzzen what it is.

The new Buzzen features a cleaner, more modern design, improved mobile support, updated security and account systems, and several completely new ways to interact with the community.

Here are some of the highlights.

🎨 A Fresh New Look

The entire Buzzen website has received a major visual refresh.

Pages have been redesigned with cleaner layouts, easier navigation, improved readability and better support for phones, tablets and modern browsers.

Profiles, Blogs, Groups, News, Messages, member pages, Chat Rooms and many other areas have been updated while still keeping the familiar Buzzen feel.

🏷️ Make Your Profile More You

Profiles have received some of the biggest improvements.

Members can now customize their profiles with Profile Tags, giving you another fun way to show off your interests, personality, favorite teams and more.

We’ve also expanded Profile Audio. You can upload profile audio or even record a short voice clip directly from your browser and have it available from your profile.

Profile audio now supports both uploaded audio and browser recording, while the profile customization system includes the current badge/tag catalog.

❤️ Introducing Buzzen Singles

One of the biggest additions is Buzzen Singles — an optional, members-only area for adults 18 and older who would like to meet other Buzzen members for friendship, companionship, dating or relationships.

Buzzen Singles works with your existing Buzzen account — there is no second account or separate messaging system to manage.

Members can create a Singles profile, browse other participating members, privately show interest, match when interest is mutual, hide profiles, unmatch and use Buzzen’s existing Block and Messages systems.

Safety and privacy were built into Singles from the beginning, including dedicated reporting, blocking, hiding, unmatching and Singles-specific moderation.

💬 Goodbye SMF — Hello Native Buzzen Forum

Another major change happened with the Buzzen Community Forum.

For many years our forum was powered by SMF. While it served Buzzen well, it was essentially a separate forum system attached to the website.

That has changed.

The Community Forum is now a native part of Buzzen and uses your normal Buzzen account, design, notifications and member systems.

The new forum includes topics and replies, Quick Reply, quotes, search, unread-topic tracking, followed discussions, notifications, polls, post likes, attachments, moderation tools and more. Existing forum content was migrated into the new system so Buzzen’s community history could come with us.

🌎 The New Buzzen Community Feed

Buzzen now has its own Community Feed.

Think of it as a central place to see what’s happening around the community.

Members can post status updates, share images, leave comments and likes, while activity from other areas of Buzzen can also appear in the Feed — including Forum discussions, Blogs, photos, profile-picture updates and new members.

The Feed respects the privacy and access rules of the original content, along with Buzzen’s existing Block system.

The Feed is now a native Buzzen feature with posts, media, reactions, comments, reporting and member participation controls. The production route is /feed.

🐛 Found Something Wrong? Report a Bug!

With an update this large, there may still be something we missed.

Instead of wondering whether staff already knows about a problem, members now have a dedicated Report a Bug feature.

If something on the website isn’t working correctly, you can send us the details directly so we can investigate it.

The new site-wide bug-report system was added specifically to make it easier for members to report problems encountered while using Buzzen.

🔐 A Lot Has Changed Behind the Scenes Too

Some of the biggest changes aren't immediately visible.

Buzzen has undergone a major modernization behind the scenes, replacing large portions of the older website code with a cleaner and more secure system designed for current versions of PHP and modern browsers.

Account security, spam detection, reporting and moderation tools, notifications, email handling, profile management, administrative tools and Chat integration have all received significant work.

The goal wasn't to turn Buzzen into some completely different social network.

The goal was to build a better Buzzen.

🚀 And We're Not Finished

This update represents one of the largest changes to Buzzen in years, but development isn't stopping here.

We'll continue improving the site, fixing issues, polishing existing features and looking for useful additions that make Buzzen easier and more enjoyable to use.

So take a look around.

Update your profile. Add some Profile Tags. Record a little Profile Audio. Check out the Community Feed. Visit the new Forum. Explore Buzzen Singles if it's for you. And, of course, come hang out with everyone in Chat.
